The music of Chapter Four was inspired mainly by the end of a relationship - a time which was the most difficult that I had known up to that point. I had survived the demise of relationships before, but none came close to this one. It is this experience and the events of this time that I wrote about in the Chapter Four collection.

As for the title - Chapter Four - my life at this point could be segmented into four distinct chapters. First, there was my childhood in California. Second, there were the early years in Illinois. Third, there was the time of my high school years. And the fourth chapter was my young adult life - and this was the chapter that I saw ending - both the relationship and the events that served as its backdrop.
